At Capstone we call our baptism services "dunk'd". We believe that baptism is one of the sacraments of the local church and should be celebrated in a huge way. The way we explain what baptism is by a simple expression:
"baptism is an outward expression of an inward decision."
That inward decision is to accept Christ as our Lord and Savior, and that expression is going through the waters of baptism. This shows our community of faith that a decision has been made, and it is a symbol of Jesus' victory over death.
"We died to sin; how can we live in it any longer? Or don't you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life." Romans 6:2-4
If you have made that inward decision, but have never gone through believer's baptism, we would love to talk to you more. Please email firstname.lastname@example.org for more information.
